Lauren was born and raised in Zimbabwe and started her musical studies when she was 6 years old.
In 2002 she was awarded a place at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and moved to London to study flute performance with Wissam Boustany. She graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music, Honours.
Lauren has been teaching for 17 years giving her fantastic experience in delivering creative ensembles, whole class tuition, one-to-one and small group teaching as well as leading flute choirs, orchestras and big bands.
She has taught in Zimbabwe, Botswana, England and U.A.E and is fortunate to have worked with students from many different cultures and backgrounds.
From 2011-2014 Lauren was based in Abu Dhabi, working as a woodwind tutor. She was also a member and chairperson of the Abu Dhabi Flute Society and Principal Flautist of U.A.E National Symphony Orchestra and flute tutor for the Abu Dhabi National Youth Wind Band.
The Social Media phenomenon is of great interest to Lauren, and in 2014 she completed a Social Media for Business Diploma with Pitman Training.
She then spent 2015 working at the Centre for Musical Arts, in Dubai, as Social Media Manager, alongside her woodwind teaching.
Since relocating back to the UK at the start of 2016 Lauren has been a freelance woodwind tutor. Various music administration jobs have also crossed her path allowing her to get involved in the National Youth Music Camps through the Stables Theatre, as well as the Bedfordshire Music Trust holiday courses.
In 2017 Lauren was the music tutor for Orchard Preparatory School in Barton-Le-Clay, tutoring whole class music lessons and assisting with the end of term music theatre productions.
From 2018 she has been working with Inspiring Music Hub, through Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Music Co-op and most recently joined the music department as the specialist flute tutor for Oundle School.
